IHEC Supported by UNDP Holds Coordination workshop for POD

The IHEC held a coordination 4-day workshop to review media campaigns management for the Public Outreach Department (POD) with other Departments in cooperation with the UNDP, On Sunday, 22-1-2012

The workshop was attended by Judge Qasim Al Aboudy, the IHEC CEO, Mr. Qasim Abdulridha, Deputy CEO for technical affairs, Mr. Abdulrahman Abdullah, POD Director- General, Mr. Mukdad Al-Shreefy, Administration Dept. Director-General, Mr. Hadi Hassan Director-General of Finance, the POD Assistant Director-
General and a number of heads of sections .

The Deputy CEO delivered a speech on the mechanism of coordination between the POD and other departments to develop the employee's performance and overcome obstacles that may face their work in next campaigns.

During the workshop, Judge Qasim talked on many essential points that would increase the level of coordination between departments.

"The election of the KR governorate councils will take place next September 27th , and it necessary to make more efforts and pay considerable interest to voter registry, and there should be some focus on development of necessary plans including the media plan for updating voter registry and polling stage", said  Al-Aboudy.

He also highlighted the necessity to use modern and advanced methods in media through maintaining relationships with political entities and encourage them to participate strongly in the election, as well as, the role of Civil Society Organizations, media and religious men in urging citizens to take their role in electoral education.

Many important topics in the agenda were identified to support the POD staff, and to implement the media plan for updating voter registry and polling stage, as the important topics submitted to the electoral administration and the Board of Commissioners for approval to develop the POD staff's performance.
